For over a year, Laguna Beach has showed tremendous support in honoring the memory of former Laguna Beach mayor, Kathleen Blackburn with 125 contributions to Kathleen Blackburn’s Laguna Fund. The purpose of the fund is to directly assist individuals in need by providing funds at a time when a small gift will make a significant impact on their future. Kathleen Blackburn’s Laguna Fund is held at Laguna Beach Community Foundation.
Kathleen’s husband, Bill Blackburn, shared, “seeing the tremendous support of so many friends and neighbors has meant the world to me. It has brought great joy to continue supporting organizations whose missions keep Kathleen’s spirit alive. Nothing seems more appropriate than a simple thank you to each of you.”
The first set of grant distributions were recently gifted to five local nonprofits. Bill met with each organization individually and shared how the mission of the fund spoke directly to what meant most to Kathleen – helping people. Grants were gifted to Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach, Friendship Shelter, Laguna Beach Community Clinic, Laguna Beach Seniors and Laguna Beach High School Scholarship Foundation.
LBCF provides expertise and resources to assist local charities, connects donor passions with nonprofit needs, and works with local professional advisors to assist their clients in giving now and beyond their lifetimes with a legacy gift. For more information call 949-715-8223.
